Patrick Mish is a street-proven entrepreneur with a passion for bringing big ideas to life by starting and building companies and unlocking the potential of those around him. Patrick holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech and most recently cofounded SilverStay, a company that supports health systems in discharging medically complex patients.
After completing his Ph.D. in aeroacoustics at Virginia Tech, Patrick worked on future Navy ship designs at Northrop Grumman, had a brief stint as an IT sales rep, and then became an accidental entrepreneur after picking up a Kindle ereader.
Inspired by the Kindle, Patrick launched a consumer products business, M-Edge, built around the newly emerging e-reader category and quickly secured the largest share of the accessories market. Patrick directed the vision, hired the team, and led the growth of the company from day one, zero revenue to $40M in sales and 90+ employees. He collaboratively built a culture centered on innovation and adaptability that facilitated the successful pivot of the business from e-reader accessories to the broader consumer electronic accessories market. Along the way, Patrick and team won two Top Workplace Awards, a Top Leadership Award, and ranked No. 91 on Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies in 2012. Patrick successfully exited the business in 2014 through a strategic sale.
After caring for his dad who passed away in 2015 from complications related to dementia, Patrick launched SilverStay, a healthcare software and services company building data-driven assisted living networks to support health systems in the delivery of better care at reduced costs. His current full-time focus, Patrick and team are working to grow SilverStay into a nationwide platform that supports health systems with their most complex patients, and just recently closed a substantial round of funding that will kick off their expansion efforts.
An obsessive learner, Patrick reads voraciously on topics ranging from positive psychology and the latest research on neuroscience to raising innovative and creative children. A father of four, Patrick values a solid work-life balance and makes time for boating, playing sports with his kids, triathlons, and most importantly, weekly date night with his wife (and bestselling author), Devon.
