David W. Allen, 2023
Dr. Allen attended Virginia Tech, where he earned his B.S. (2012), M.S. (2014), and Ph.D. (2016) in Aerospace Engineering, with a focus on Nonlinear Dynamics and Control. Upon completing his Ph.D., Dr. Allen began working in the Engineering Technology Group at The Aerospace Corporation. In this role, he led the development of several simulation and testing tools for analyzing the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). In 2021, Dr. Allen transitioned to a role in the Defense Systems Group at The Aerospace Corporation advising the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ). In this role, Dr. Allen advises SAF/SQ and the Department of Defense on policy and technical concerns related to GPS and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). He also assists SAF/SQ in interactions with civil agencies and international partners on issues related to the GPS program. Dr. Allen has authored numerous technical reports for the Aerospace Corporation and published serval papers through the Institute of Navigation.
