Ryan Meritt

Ryan Meritt, Ph.D., is President and Chief Scientist, at Ahmic Aerospace.

Dr. Meritt attended Virginia Tech, where he earned his B.S. (2009), M.S. (2010), and Ph.D. (2013) in Aerospace Engineering, with a focus in experimental supersonic/hypersonic boundary layer analysis. In 2010, Dr. Meritt commissioned into the U.S. Air Force, serving as the lead engineer on a $100M ACAT III acquisition program providing technical expertise to field vital warfighter equipment. Later at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), he managed a $10M scramjet facility complex as an operations officer. In 2014, Dr. Meritt founded Ahmic Aerospace, where he now serves as President and Chief Scientist. He is responsible for managing Ahmic’s aerospace research and development operations, where he has successfully transitioned and commercialized two sensor product lines. Dr. Meritt is an aerodynamicist with expertise in flow diagnostics, design tool validation, and experimental test and evaluation. He has been actively involved in AF/DoD ground-test facility and hypersonic flight programs as a boundary layer and instrumentation Subject Matter Expert for over 12 years. In recent years, Dr. Meritt has served as the Principal Investigator on four successful SBIR Phase II programs and a NASA Space Act Agreement. Dr. Meritt is the author of 25+ technical publications and inventor on two U.S. patents.
